Teresa's surgery went badly wrong. She's recovered mostly now, but apparently some of her lung tissue adhered to the pleural wall and the attempt to insert the device to keep her lungs drained actually tore a bit of her lung tissue. This caused her lungs to bleed, and the surgery was abandoned. She ended up in the Intensive Care Unit for about 3 days and 2 more days in the hospital. She is home now, but there is something else wrong with her breathing. She has been put on oxygen at a pretty high level. They don't know yet what is causing her low oxygen levels so we expect her to be on oxygen for a while. She's also pretty weak, and is sticking to sitting a lot. Chemo has been cancelled for a couple of weeks to allow her body to recover.
Although we could not go to the Christmas Liturgy, we were able to celebrate Christmas with my family in Austin, as well as spending the afternoon with a LOT of friends from Church at their family Christmas. That really perked her up. Today (Sunday the 26th) she was feeling better, but is still exhausted.
