Chemo #6 update

Lot's of stuff going on.  Finally got all my computers working again, just in time to have problems with my work computers.  Yay!

We've been busy since the last update.  We finally got to take the trailer out right before Chemo #6.  We made 2 trips.  The first trip was to a nice park just outside of Fredericksburg.  That was 2 days of fun, along with a really steep learning curve.  We ate at a German restaurant there, along with walking a bit and enjoying the really nice weather.

We left Fredericksburg, and stopped by the house long enough to get some clean clothes and dump off stuff we didn't need, and then took the trailer to Paris, TX.  THAT was more interesting.  The park we wanted to stay at closed the gates at 10 P.M. sharp.  So we pretty much drove straight through and got there around 9:30 P.M.  It took us 20 minutes to find our space because it was so very dark.  The sky was completely overcast, so no star or moon light.  The spot we had was supposed to be a pull through, but I couldn't figure out where the pull through was because of the darkness.  It turns out that while we were parking on a concrete pad, the road was a pebble bed that was pretty much invisible.  After examining the area with a flashlight and much maneuvering that included almost tipping the truck and trailer over we were finally able to get into the space.  Once we had the trailer levelled and hooked up, I logged into Amazon and ordered some work lights.

The other complication was that our 12v line to the trailer hitch went out, which meant the trailer brakes didn't work.  Made driving on I35 a lot more interesting....

We had a great time with Teresa's aunt and cousins.  A lot of memories were shared, and a lot of love was showered on Teresa.

The actual chemo treatment was pretty straightforward, although her platelet count (clotting and other things) was down a bit.  As always, Teresa was exhausted after the chemo.  It is now takes 3 or 4 days to recover from the effects of chemo.

Her hair continues to thin, so we went out and bought her a couple of wigs.  One is close to her current hair color.  The other one is dark blue.  So expect a couple of pictures once we have the wigs in place.

Next week (June 9th) will start chemo #7.  Before she starts, she'll get a number of blood tests to make sure her body is up to the chemo.  If not, they will delay it a week or two depending on the results.  We are praying that her health is good enough for the chemo.

Our next trip will be towards the end of June to attend an in person science fiction convention outside Nashville, where we hope to see some of our (well, mostly mine) friends.
