Chemo #7

So, lots of stuff happened during this update.  We travelled to Nashville to spend some time at a science fiction convention.

The first day of the trip, we spent most of the day in Dallas with Teresa's godparents and their family.  It was a wonderful time of fellowship and love.  Her godparents took us to breakfast at a really nice restaurant called Cafe Brazil. Wonderful coffee and a very tasty breakfast.  For lunch, we enjoyed some really good and authentic greek food.

Second day was mostly driving, with some time spent at the Memphis version of Smokers Abbey.  Great time and great folks.

We then drove on to Nashville and saw a lot of friends from the Science Fiction community.  Lots of good times and also saw some really interesting presentations. On the way back, we got to visit with her sister and brother in law, as well as her niece and her fiance.

Pretty much as soon as we got back, Teresa went into chemo.  She is now receiving chemo every three weeks.  This is in part to give her platelets some time to recover, because if her platelets go too low, she won't get chemo due to the risk of bleeding. That went pretty well, but this time it hit her a lot harder.  She was nauseous for several days, and the tiredness is really getting to her.

This week, we took a day to visit with her sister and brother in law while they were on vacation.  We met up with them in Fredricksburg, had some good German food and some good visiting.  We also were fortunate to meet up with some friends from church who were visiting Fredricksburg.  That unexpected meeting turned into some time catching up with them.  That was a real blessing.

My youngest son moved his girlfriend and her 4 year old daughter in with us until they can find a place of their own.  So Teresa gets to play grandmother quite a bit. It has been a challenge, but we've enjoyed having them hear, and it provides another pair of hands to help out.

Teresa had another CT scan this week, to see how the cancer is being affected by the chemotherapy.  We won't know the results of that until her next appointment for chemotherapy.

More updates later.
